I will be writing a little bit about myself in this section. A more personalized bio than the official one if you will…
My name is Ahmed Rehab. I am an American. I am a Muslim. I am an Egyptian. I am a Westerner. I am a global citizen. In no particular order.
I do not believe in hyphenated identities.
I believe in one race, the human race and that all humans are basically the same.
I do not believe that any one group – whether race-based, faith-based, or otherwise – holds a monopoly on good or on evil. I believe that every group has a roughly similar range of the good, the bad, and the ugly. For me, the age-old conflict between good and bad is at the individual level – perhaps even within the individual.
I have had a somewhat interesting life. I grew up in three different countries on three different continents. I speak three languages and have changed my career three times.
I enjoy traveling for business and leisure and have visited 350 cities in 29 countries.
For the past 19 years I have lived in Chicago. Currently I am a columnist, community activist, and media commentator committed to promoting the values of justice, peace, democracy, coexistence, and mutual understanding. I head up CAIR-Chicago, one of the city’s largest civil rights organizations.
In this blog, I write about issues of interest to me. I welcome your feedback in the form of comments or emails.

Wish you good luck and happy to see some Egyptian-American speak of the human rights and respect humanity as myself. Ya rba beltawfiq.
Don’t care about the order of your stated identities, except for the Muslim one, which is supposed to precede them all. Emphasis on the words-Supposed to. Call it preachy if you like but it’s the Truth.
Wow, thats a really clever way of tihiknng about it!
