From the Blog…
The people of Egypt have spoken. Their voice was loud and clear, their action, united and resolute. They decide their own fate – not an authoritarian president, not a rigged parliament, not a foreign power.
The Egyptian people do not want a monarchy (they deposed that in 1952), not a dictatorship (They are deposing that now), and not a fundamentalist theocracy which the US seems to believe is the only remaining option for Egypt and much of the Middle East.
But there is a fourth option and it is the one the Egyptian people marched for since day one: Democracy. This revolution has made it unmistakably clear since the first sign and first chant that it will settle for nothing less than a comprehensive system reform that puts the power back in the hands of the citizens, the only rightful owners of their own fate.
